Mahoney makes final trip of the season to South Buxton

The 2009 Southern Ontario Sprint headed west for their final visit of 2009 to the South Buxton Raceway in Merlin, Ontario. After one of their better outings of the season Mahoney Racing got back to action again with three cars on the track.

Jim Munsie again piloted the 9J in action for his second career sprint car start. Dick and Jim both started the evening in the second 8 lap qualifying heat. Dick finished 4th while Jim finished in the 7th position.

In the 20 lap main event Dain Naida won from the outside pole in a race that went caution free. Dick drove his #79 to a 12th place finished while Jim came home 14th. The finish for the 'Pig' moved him into 7th in SOS points with just two events remaining. Adam West moved ahead of Justin Martin for the top spot in the overall standings and now leads Martin by 4 points. Warren Mahoney sits third just 30 markers back.

Dick and the #79 team will continue their 2009 campaign as the Southern Ontario Sprints head back to Brighton Speedway on Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th for the season ending SOS Labour Day Classic Weekend.
