The
first green flag of the season for the Southern
Ontario Sprints will unfurl on May 22nd at Brighton
Speedway. The evenings events will mark the beginning
of a pair of significant celebrations.
For the SOS, 2010 will mark the clubs
15th season of competition while series regular Dick
Mahoney of Newmarket, Ontario will kick off his 50th
year of racing. Dick and the #79 will be celebrating
all season long and fans will have the opportunity to
commemorate the milestone by purchasing a special
edition 50 years of racing t-shirt at each event.
Among the events scheduled for the SOS
and the #79 team will be six visits to Brighton
Speedway, a stop at Ohsweken Speedway as well as a
long awaited return to Merrittville Speedway in
Thorold, Ontario. The tour along with Dick Mahoney
will also be making their first ever visit to
Autodrome Edelweiss in Wakefield, Quebec on Friday,
July 9th.
Mahoney Racing has also announced the
addition of Carlisle Customz to its list of supporters
for the upcoming season. The team would like to
welcome them aboard as well as say thank you to
Clintar Groundkeeping Services, Print Express and Fram,
who will not be returning in 2010. Their support has
been appreciated over the past number of seasons.
The 15th season for the Southern Ontario
Sprints and the 50th year of racing for Dick Mahoney
rolls into action on Saturday, May 22nd at Brighton
Speedway in Brighton, Ontario.
