The
SOS Labour Day Classic Weekend was
anything but classic for the entire
Mahoney racing team. On Saturday
night both Dick and son Warren rolled
their cars. Warren flipped
violently in his heat while Dick
rolled over in the dash after contact
with another competitor. Dick
was able to repair the car enough to
make the main event and come home 13th
while Warren was forced to the back up
car. The two spent all day
Sunday repairing their rides.
Warren
was able to repair the primary car
allowing Jim Porter to race in the
back up #25. Porter had blown an
engine the night prior. Dick was
never able to get the car right all
weekend and struggled to an 11th place
finish on Sunday night. He was
able however to maintain his third
place in the overall SOS standings
with just one race remaining.
Up
next the #79 team heads to Ohsweken
for the Friday September 16th SOS
Championship Invitational and the
Saturday September 18th Canadian
Sprint Car Nationals. |
