Dick
Mahoney and the #79 team finally
came away with a night to be proud
of after the Southern Ontario
Sprints visited the South Buxton
Raceway on Saturday night July
14th.
Dick
was fast off of the truck and won
his 8 lap qualifying heat in fine
fash over the very fast cars of
Kyle Patrick and Keith Dempster.
To add to the success of the night
son Warren won his heat over Kevin
Job and Glenn Styres. It was
turning into a great evening for
the Clintar Groundkeeping Services
teams.
Come
feature time Dick would start on
the outside of the front row and
jumped out to the early lead over
pole sitter and rookie Justin
Martin. Mahoney held the top spot
briefly until hard charging Kevin
Job found his way to the front.
After a mid race restart. Dick
would end up sliding back to the
seventh position but all in all
had a successful night at a track
where he claimed his most recent
win just last season. Kevin Job
went on to win the race over Keith
Dempster and Kyle Patrick. After 6
of 12 SOS events Dick Mahoney now
finds himself just one spot out of
the top ten in overall driver
points.
Dick
and the #79 team will return to
action on Saturday August 4th at the
South Buxton Raceway. For
