2005
is turning out to be one of the best
seasons of all time for Dick Mahoney
and the #79 team. Approaching
the halfway mark of the season Dick is
third in the overall SOS standings
just 12 points behind Jim Porter for
second place and 123 points behind
leader Adam West. Mahoney
solidified his place in the top three
with a season best third place finish
at the South Buxton Raceway on June
18th.
The
entire evening at South Buxton was
excellent for the #79 team. It
started in the heats where Dick went
out and captured the win over a hard
charging Kyle Patrick. In the
feature Dick would run in the top
three all night. After losing a
close battle with son Warren for the
second spot in the late stages of the
race. Dick would end up third in the
feature event behind Warren and winner
Kyle Patrick. Up next for the
#79 team will be Rounds 8 and 9 of the
SOS tour at Ohsweken Speedway on July
8th and Brighton Speedway on July 9th. |
