The
Southern Ontario Sprints made
their second visit of the year to
Brighton Speedway in what was the
tours third race of the season.
Dick
Mahoney and the #79 team had a
solid night at the 1/3 mile clay
oval coming out in the first
qualifying heat and finishing
third from his fifth starting
position.
With
Bob Crawford unable to make the
call for the Rowley Electric Dash
for Cash that bumped Mahoney into
the 4 lap affair. Son Warren took
the checkers with Dick claiming a
third.
In
the 20 lap main event Dick started
4th but was not able to hang with
the leaders. Glenn Styres
would go on to win the race while
son Warren would finish 3rd.
Dick piloted the #79 to a ninth
place finish which helped secure
his spot in the top ten in points.
The finish has him sitting in
sixth just 46 points out of first
and 17 points from the top five.
Dick Mahoney and the rest of the
Southern Ontario Sprints will be
back on the road on Saturday June
28th at the South Buxton Raceway
and Sunday June 29th at
Humberstone Speedway. For
