A near capacity crowd was on hand to see 23 cars take to the 1/3 mile clay oval. Dick Mahoney would line up 5th in the first of three qualifying heats. By the conclusion of the 8 lap affair, Mahoney would finish in 4th place.

   In the 20 lap feature Dick would start in the 10th position. A miscue on the setup though would send him down in the running order where he would finish in 16th.
